USB device malfunctioned / can't upload anymore

i am on arduino IDE windows, i was able to upload 2-3 sketches including lora sending, all was working fine. now i get this USB malfunction error and the Port doesn’t show up in tools (greyed out)
i tried to reset the board (kit) by clicking for 5 seconds (like with arduinos) but this didnt help.

any idea what i can do?

Try to quickly press Reset button twice.
The device should be shown as USB drive on Windows. Ignore the drive and retry to flash from ArduinoIDE.

Please update your bootloader on the RAK4631.
