Can I use a power supply and PoE at the same time?

Hello,
I bought a PoE Switch and would like to know if I can switch from powering my RAK 7258 with a power supply to powering it with PoE without a downtime.

Can I power the RAK7258 from a power supply and from PoE at the same time? Which one is preferred? Would it fallback to the other method if there is a problem with the other?

Both can be powered at the same time, but there is no guarantee that the database backup will not be abnormal after switching. This method is not recommended. :blush: :blush: :blush:

Hello,
I just removed the power supply from my gateway and moved the ethernet cable from a non PoE port to a PoE port. The gateway is up and running again.

At the moment I only have one node running and it sends data every 20 min. So I had enough time for this operation.
