CRC_Fail on RAK7243

Hi,

yesterday I got my RAK7243, it is registered at TTN and I just get corrupt packages- except one package. Connection Board -> Pigtail -> Antenna looks fine. Anything else I should check?

Regards,
Michael!

Hi @molli123,

Can I see the TTN Gateway RAW data screenshot. Perhaps the configuration of the application and Gateway too?
Thank you

Hi,

I started from scratch today- setting up Pilot Gateway and WisNode at work. Not so much radio noise as at home (garage door opener also sending at 868MHz). Now I can see my messages in the TTN Console. I also see some other packets, most of them with CRC bad. Are those sent from some other guys too far away to be read properly with my Gateway?

Is there a simple way to upgrade Firmware 2.9R -> 2.9.1R or just by reinstalling?

Regards,
Michael!

Hi @molli123,

Those crc error packets are what you assumed. Something else is sendi g them, or it is someone else’s Lora, but heavily interfered, worry not this is normal. Unfortunately the only way to upgrarede the firmware as of now is by reflashing it, sorry.
Glad it works now.

Vladislav

I have another problem. I started from scratch on the gateway and it seems the app_eui is transmitted incorrectly.

on wiznode
at+join
OTAA:
DevEui:00661B3B053EB963
AppEui:70B3D57ED001FCD4
AppKey:********
OTAA Join Start…
OK
[LoRa]:Join retry Cnt:1
[LoRa]:Join retry Cnt:2
[LoRa]:Join retry Cnt:3
[LoRa]:Join retry Cnt:4
[LoRa]:Join retry Cnt:5
[LoRa]:Joined Failed!

in ttn console i see lots of join requests, but the app_eui is slightly different. But it is always the same EUI on all 50 packets (93C5 instead of B3D5) :
7093C57ED001FCD4

Any idea where this might fail? I am using 3.0.0.3H Firmware

Hi @molli123
What you mean by “but the app_eui is slightly different”. To have successful join in OTAA, all 3 keys must match. So … configure the node with DevEui, AppEui and AppKey from TTN console.

Hi @molli123,

Please have a look at my document, especially section 5:
https://downloads.rakwireless.com/en/LoRa/WisNode/Application-Notes/

Usually, if the node’s region, work mode, and join mode are correct, and you have set the correct 3 parameters which you get from TTN into WisNode, i think it will not fail. Please check carefully according to my document and try again.

the interesting thing is: i send:
70B3D57ED001FCD4

I receive:
7093C57ED001FCD4

I always receive the same string- why are they different?

Can you please attach some screenshots here?

THis is what I see, the appeui is different, five times the same app_eui, but different from the one sent
