Dim Blinking Green Light While on LIPO Battery Power?

I’m using your new starter kit Wisblock 19007 + Rak 4361 with no other modules, flashed with the latest Meshtastic firmware V2.6.4, It works fine from my 5 volt power supply. The green LED is blinking bright and bold, and it fully charges a 3,7 volt 8000 ma LiPo battery. The red LED goes out after few hours.

However, when I unplug the USB power and switch to LiPo only, the bright green blinking LED cuts it’s brightness by about 80%, and my Rak device vanishes from the BLE connection.

I believe it is going into “light sleep mode”, When 5 vdc is reapplied, the board resumes functioning…The “Shutdown on Power Loss” option is NOT enabled. Could the default LiPo voltage be too low? This is the battery recommended on the Amazon website for this board.

Welcome to RAK forum @KY6O ,

With the 80% brightness going off the LED (very dim), There can be a possibility that the voltage is low. It is best if you can measure the VDD and the battery voltage to verify/confirm.

Is there a test pin or pad for measuring the VDD?

Hi @KY6O ,

These points are at the back.

Thanks, I will do this tonight.

PS: After all the electronics courses I took in school, I’m personally embarrassed that I didn’t turn the board over to look there first.
