Does WisMesh Wi-Fi MQTT Gateway support CN470?

Hello RAK team,

I’m interested in using the WisMesh Wi-Fi MQTT Gateway in mainland China, where the legal LoRa frequency band is CN470 (470–510 MHz). However, I noticed that the official product page only lists support for 800 MHz, 900 MHz, and other high-frequency bands.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Is there a version of this gateway that supports CN470?
  2. If not, is there any way to customize or adapt the device to support CN470 legally?
  3. Are there any WisMesh or similar RAK products that currently support CN470?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Eric

Welcome to the forum @Sun

There is no variant of the gateway that supports CN470.

The gateway is using the RAK11200 (ESP32-Wrover) together with the RAK13300 LoRa module. The RAK13300 is not available for CN470.

For CN470, you can build a Meshtastic device with LoRa only with these components:

But we have no solution for a combination of CN470 LoRa and WiFi.

If Ethernet is an option instead of WiFi, you can build a Meshtastic Ethernet MQTT Gateway for CN470 with

Then you can flash the RAK4631 with the firmware-rak4631_eth_gw-w.x.yy.zzzzzzz.uf2 firmware.
