Freq 470 will not work in the U.S.?

I ordered a RAK831 Module from a Merchant, Banggood, in China and they sent me a Module that was setup for the Freq. 470 ( Freq. 470 is setup for China) and I assume that won’t work in the U.S. , am Right or Wrong ?
They, Banggood won’t fix the problem. Has anyone else face this same problem ?

Hi @mickey,

Unfortunately this is not a setup issues. The Low frequency you have comes with Semtech SX1255, which works in the 400 to 510 MHz range. The High frequency has Semtech SX1257 for the 862 to 960 MHz range. Thus you need to have the proper module in accordance with you country allocation spectrum (US915 in your case).
I am sorry, but you would have to exchange the module. To avoid such problems I suggest you purchase directly from our new store:

I sure wished I would have known about this I would have ordered the RAK831 from you…

Hi @mickey,

Apologies, we are doing our best to keep with demand and working on our store structure and popularity. Please use it for future purchases. Perhaps your currently supplier will agree to change the board.
Or you could upgrade to our new RAK2245, which is the successor to the RAK831.
