Gateways on Public Internet

I’ve got some RAK gateways I am thinking of putting on the public internet with a static IP.

I’d like to understand what kind of firewall rules or any other changes would need to be made to make this safe. Or is the RAK software built to handle this situation?

This is not ideal obviously, but just want to understand the implications.

Hei @john ,

Which gateways in particular are you referring to?

Gateways running WisGateOS

Hei @john ,

You can set a lot of parameters, for example you can set traffic rules for protocols and ports. You can port-forward or set zones for specific interfaces so input/output traffic is accepted/rejected.
Is there something in particular you would like to implement?

I want to protect the device from getting hacked basically.
