GPS antenna required?

Hi, just a quick question regarding the gps antenna on the RAK7249. If I have fake gps enabled, is it still a requirement to attach the gps physically? I know the instructions indicate to do this, but I was wondering if it’s disabled whether it’s necessary. The problem is that it makes the gateway more difficult to mount, as it doesn’t just screw in like the others, a mount is required for it. Is there a dummy that can be used? Thanks in advance!
Found these, not sure if they are suitable or not? If so which one?

Dear Andy,

It’s easy to plug in a GPS antenna! Do you use another antenna?

If you don’t want access, yes, but the GPS feature won’t work!

Best regards!

Easy to plug in, but more difficult to mount Nicholas. Requires mounting the antenna on a separate pole. I don’t want to use the gps feature, as the gateway is permanently installed. I just want to make sure I’m not going to damage anything internally by not having it attached.

Dear Andy,

You can do that, but the GPS feature won't work!

Perfect, thanks. :+1:t2:

I think the GPS antenna in the GW is active (DC powered). so the DC resistance of the dummy load needs to be very high to avoid a large current flowing through it.
