I’m using a RAK2461 WisNode Bridge IO Lite gateway configured for the US915 region. I would like to restrict it to sub-band 0 (uplink channels 0–7 and downlink channel 64), so it can work with end-devices that only operate within this sub-band.
Has anyone managed to configure the RAK2461 to operate only on sub-band 0?
If so, could you share the exact steps or configuration (via CLI, web UI, or config files)?
Any help or experience would be very helpful.
Setting the specific sub-bands for regions like US915 is not yet supported. We will implement this for the new WisNode bridge on the next FW release. I can give you early access on the pre-release FW once it is available. The target to have this beta FW is on end of month (May).
On the other hand, if your LNS and Gateway only listen to CH0-7, you can still try to join. The current FW scans the channels and waits for the respond from the LNS to setup the channels to use.
That makes sense now. I was indeed experiencing failed uplinks after a successful join, and suspected a mismatch in the enabled sub-bands. I’ll wait for the upcoming firmware release that allows configuring sub-band 0 directly — and I’d be very interested in trying the pre-release version if early access is possible.
In the meantime, I’ll make sure that my LNS and gateway remain aligned on sub-band 0 (CH0–CH7 uplinks + CH64 downlink), and monitor if the current firmware adapts to those channels dynamically after the join.
