If a node is within range of more than one Gateway?

Hi, I have a wisgate lite 2 RAK7268 and many nodes. I will measure a water meter of area. Now I have one gateaway if I establish more gateaways, and a node is within range of them. what will happen?

1- data is received by all these Gateways and processed by the network server. server will choice better one.

or

2- only one gateaway received datas from defined nodes.

“I’m asking this because, let’s say we set up a LoRaWAN network in a large area or a city center. If a node can send messages to multiple gateways, the system will still work, and the node will continue to send messages even if one gateway fails.”

It is handled in the LoRaWAN server.
E.g. a log from my Chirpstack V4 with 2 gateways connected. The node packet is received from both gateways. The LNS is using it once. But in the log I can see the info about both gateways that received the node packet and forwarded it to the LNS.
