Is my RAK7268 Dead?

Hi Everyone!

I was excited to get this gateway. I hooked it up and followed the instructions to connect it to TTN. The gateway phases the red led. It doesn’t seem to get any lora packets. I tested with another brand gateway, and it is able to receive lora packets fine. Is it possible that I have a bad gateway? Or is something not configured properly?

Hello @setpixel and welcome to the forum!

What backhaul are you using on the gateway? Can you also send a picture of the configuration of the gateway’s LoRa Network Settings?

Thanks for the reply. I am using TTN. I think I’ve figured some things out. First, I was using the wrong channel mask on my end nodes. So I got the communications working.

I guess this is more of a cosmetic issue, but the breathing red light is pretty annoying if you are using TTN as opposed to running your own Lora server. The system setting to disable it appears to not work Unless something is going wrong that is making it glow red?

It is good news that you managed to get your data to TTN. What is the firmware version of the gateway? If it’s an earlier version than WisGateOS_1.2.3, can you upgrade to 1.2.3. You can download the firmware here. Upgrade your gateway and try again to configure the breathing light.
