Is RAK5146 Compatible with LR-FHSS

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying the RAK5146 concentrator for a LoRaWAN gateway project, and I need to make sure it will work for my use case before I move forward.

My main question is:
Can the RAK5146 receive LR-FHSS uplink packets sent by end devices based on the Semtech LR1121 chipset?

If yes:

  • Are there any specific firmware versions or configurations I need to apply?
  • Does it require using LoRa Basics Station instead of the legacy packet forwarder?
  • Are there any limitations or gotchas I should be aware of?

I’d really appreciate any advice or documentation you can point me to. Just want to make sure I get the right hardware before purchasing.
