Maximum payload of RAK811 module

Hi All,

First off, would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!.

We manufacture IoT devices where one of our asset tracker relies on LoRaWAN communication.

We are hoping to move from existing LoRaWAN module to RAK811 which we figured out later that it comes with best features and form factor except for its payload being limited to 50 ASCII characters.

Could I please know whether there is a way that we can improve this buffer lengths? We are looking at 100 bytes to transmit in DR4.

Best,
Sanchitha

Merry Christmas to you, too!
According to the protocol, the payload can exceed 100 bytes when DR=4. By the way, what frequency band is your device in?

Hi Nicholas,

I’m using US915 band. Just wonder why RAK811 module’s command list specifies the payload length limit is 50 bytes.

This is a bug that has been fixed since previous versions of the AT command took up the number of bytes of data sent.

Is that right Nicholas!. I will try that out and see. Thank you!.
