I would like to use PlatformIO to write and build code for RAK11720 which is based on Ambiq Apollo3.

I found the guide at https://learn.rakwireless.com/hc/en-us/articles/26687276346775-How-To-Perform-Installation-of-Board-Support-Package-in-PlatformIO but it doesn’t seem to include this platform.

Since the RAK11720 is supported in the Arduino IDE it would have been very good if it can also be used in PlatformIO. Is this possible?

We support RAK11720 only with RUI3.
RUI3 is not available as PlatformIO package, only as Arduino BSP.

Possible solution is to use Visual Studio Code with Arduino Extension, installation instructions are in the RUI3 documenation

VSC with Arduino Extension is not as good as PIO, but I wrote some tricks in Advantages when using VSC
