RAK 11300 - Stopped

Hi

I have lots of RAK 11300 devices connected to AWS. I noticed todat that if these are forced to reconnect they can no longer do so.

The JOIN fails in some way. These have been working for the last 3/4 years without issue.

Any ideas how to debug?

Thanks

Did you flash a new firmware?
If not, I don’t see a reason why they wouldn’t connect anymore unless the antenna is disconnected or something changed on AWS side.

Hi

No new firmware.

Testing shows the devices work with TTN but refuse now to connect to AWS IoT Core. It appears AWS may have changed something that makes the lib incompatible in some way.

I did message you also on Discord.

I have 50 + devices in the field if these are power cycled the stop.

Thank you

AWS cannot “just change something” in the LoRaWAN protocol to make this happen.
The only thing I can think of is that they block devices with LoRaMAC stack version 1.0.2. That’s what the library is based on.

There is no easy solution if that is the case. There is no version of the library that supports LoRaWAN stack V1.0.3 or V1.0.4.

Hi

I am confused as well. But really need your help to diagnose.

The devices work while connect but fail to reconnect.

I will try and raise a support ticket with AWS.

TTN is too expensive for small number of devices we have now.

Any other suggestion as at a last resort we may need to change.

I can arrange to get you a GW on our AWS account as I think we did before.

We can try, but no promises, I am a little bit short on gateways right now, because I am testing a customer problem with Actility.

Do you have other WisBlock Core modules you could try?

Contact me via private message to discuss details.

Hi

I can confirm that if you set the device to class A with AWS the join will happen. The Joins also happen with RAK Wirless Gateways and Microtik.

The issue appears to be with Tektelic Gateways and AWS. Both AWS and Tektelic are aware. We are awaiting further updates from AWS.

@beegee how do I contact you via private message?

Thanks for the update.
If you need my help for further testing, let me know. But I have (naturally) only RAKwireless Gateways.

Thanks

I still have an issue with my RAK Gateway it won’t persist a connection to AWS after reboot?

I saw your post.
