RAK 4630-R not working on battery

  • Description:

While everything works as expected, when the Base Board is connected via usbc, when I try to run it with my Battery, the board is not running and the LED is off.

I use the correct JST 2.0 connector and reversed polarity, so that the red cable is on the inside of the board and the black cable on the outside.
The battery is a Rechargeable Battery Pack
Voltage: 3.7V
Capacity: 5600mAh

Does anyone perhaps know, what the problem might be? Or how i could try to fix it?

What FW is running on the board? Did you upload a code that will turn on the LEDs Green and/or Blue? But only working in USB?

If in battery only and it doesn’t work, can you confirm that the voltage goes in to the battery terminals? Sometimes battery connector are not working ok. Also you can check if there is 3.3V on the VDD.

The Firmware on the Board is RUI_4.2.2_RAK4631
Im not using any LED, i ment the red power led.

I measured the voltage in the battery terminal, it was a bit more then 3.7v
When i measured VDD i only got 3.0V. So i guess there is the problem?

Hi @kevingruber01 ,

Can you please send an email to [email protected] and provide photo of the setup including the battery. It seems that the baseboard charger is not working. You can include in the email that you already coordinate to Carl Rowan in RAK forum.
