Just flashed two 4631R to 4631 using this method which worked great and I can now get in to DFU mode by double pressing RST.
When I go to DFU mode, the pop up on my PC loads (new drive detected) and I can copy .uf2 files over and the device reboots.
Issue is now it’s not detected at all when I plug in the USB cable (after loading UF2 file) it doesn’t load a device in device manager but it’s getting power (red LED). If I put it in DFU mode, it is detected again and the new drive pop up opens.
This is two separate 4631 boards with the same behavior on 19001 and 19007 baseboards.
Welcome to RAK forum @ve7kod ,
Changing bootloader is a critical procedure. The USB approach on converting the bootloader is a convenient way to do the conversion but using external tools like Jlink and RAKDAP1 is a more stable approach. I am not sure what UF2 file you upload but if it is a known working file then you might need Jlink to fix the bootloader problem.
Thanks… Ordered a DAP1 - just waiting for it to show up.
UF2 files were firmware from meshcore/meshtastic, so known working files (I even dropped a version and same results).
Will wait for the DAP and give it another go.
Thanks for the reply.
DAP1 showed up, fixed both of them in less than 5 minutes
thank you!
