Hi RAK team,
We require your assistance.
We are developing a series of IoT Smart City products, with each project involving approximately 500 to 800 end nodes within a 2 km x 2 km area. We are currently using chips RAK3172 for coding our applications and gateway RAK7248. We understand that this is RAK’s development series chip, and we would like to know if it is indeed suitable for this scale of deployment. If there is an alternative recommendation, we would appreciate hearing it.
Our company anticipates a significant volume of chip purchases this year. Could you please provide information on the appropriate contact for favorable policies in Vietnam?
Thank you for your support

For price inquiries, please contact our sales team through [email protected].
For the gateways, our proposal would be to use our WisGate Edge gateways.
Hi Mr. Beegee
Thanks again.
Could you please share your thoughts on whether the RAK3172 is a good fit for our Smart City sensor deployment (around 200 nodes in 3 sq km, using multicast)? Would you also recommend any other RAK chip models that might be more suitable for this application?
Thanks for your advice!
As they are end nodes, the RAK3172 is the lowest cost solution.
You can choose any of the other WisDuo modules, but they do not have advantages when it is about LoRaWAN. The other WisDuo modules provide more MCU power, more application Flash and RAM and BLE connectivity.
The LoRaWAN stack used in the WisDuo modules is the same for RAK3172, RAK4630 and RAK11720.
Okay, I’m clear about this problem. Thank you sir
