RAK12500 firmware upgrade?

Hi,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to upgrade the ublox firmware on the RAK12500?

I know the firmware is behind a locked area, and I can’t find a lot of detail about which version would be supported, but i’m wondering if there is a firmware upgrade possible?

Hi Cyclops,

I have no experience updating the FW of the ublox module but it seem you can upload specific FW using u-center tool. It might be best to check what different FW is available from ublox. On my RAK12500, it shows FWVER=SPG 3.01.

Yes, you can upgrade the u-blox firmware on the RAK12500 module. The RAK12500 utilizes the u-blox ZOE-M8Q GNSS module, which supports firmware updates. To perform the upgrade, you’ll need the u-center software from u-blox and the appropriate firmware file for the ZOE-M8Q module.
