RAK19003 vs RAK19012 power management

Hi,

I’ve got a bunch of the RAK19003 here at home. I’ve also been looking at the RAK19012 and the other base boards, as it’s interesting to see the options available.

I’ve noticed that the battery to 3v3 LDO’s schema’s on some of these boards are different.
I"ve also noticed that older version of the RAK19003 have issues to power an ESP32 on usb alone, and adding battery helps when you do loads of WiFi stuff. This is fine for me because i run these things on battery power in “production” anyway.

So, i know there are different versions and so on, but i’m wondering if this is also reflected in the schema’s on the datasheets?
Ideally i’d love to know why the LDO’s are different, but that might be too must to ask for

We call it “evolution”, “lessons learned” and LDO’s going EOL.
That’s why you see different voltage regulation and charging chips on different base boards.

The schematics in the datasheets in our Doc Center should be showing the latest releases.
