RAK19007 board LEDs question

Again, sorry for such noob questions nut I cant find answers so far.

According to datasheet

4 - is charger indicator
5 - user defined LED

  • :red_circle: Red LED - Connected to the charger chip to indicate the charger status. When the battery is charging, this red LED is on. When the battery is full, this LED is weak light or off.

I use Mestastic 2.5.20 on my board and when I power my board from USB Type-C port - this charge indicator #4 is ON.
Why? I dont charge any battery in this situation as far I know.

Also - LED#5 is blinking Green - why?
And where it is configured to disable it?

Thanks

Hi @d00m178 ,

  1. When no battery is connected, this pin is in undefined state. You need to connect a battery if the state of this LED is necessary to you.
  2. Green blinking is defined in the Meshtastic FW. You can check heartbeat feature. You can disable/enable it using Meshtastic app.

so LED #4 not ONLY charging status indicator - it also indicator for powering of the board.
look like simple wrong description in DS…

If there is no battery connected, the status if LED #4 is undefined. This means it can be on or it can be off. It can also be dimmed. Without battery connected, it doesn’t indicate anything specific. It is only used for indication of charging status. You cannot use it to indicate that the board is powered on. It is a Charging indicator.

I power the RAK19007 board from MPPT controller so I dont need to connect the battery directly to the board…
