Rak2245 in external casing

has anybody used RAK2245 in an external casing ?

I am planning to use

will this work ?

Hi @abhishek2101,

I have used RAK2245 in an external casing, not this particular one, however similar.
This is actually very good, as you have the N-type to iPEX connectors included and you can mount one of the RAK 5dBi antennas easily. Plus IP67 is a must outside.
You will however need to find a way to power the Concentrator/Raspberry pi, as the case is designed with PoE in mind. There is plenty of space inside to fit a DC-DC converter, etc.

Since how long your gateway has been outdoors. Can you share your experience.

I have had a RAK7249, that has the same casing. It has been outside for more than a month. There were several thunderstorms with very heavy rain. So far no issues at all :slight_smile:

I would love to see such an enclosure fo the rak2245 pi hat. Is it even planned yet to produce such a thing or does anybody know an alternative currently avaiulable?
