RAK2245 Pi HAT - TTN no connect

Hello
I am very new to LoRa but no stranger to the Pi.
I have installed the Pi image and have it running on a 3B+.
I have followed the PDF guide to have the gateway work with TTN but the gateway Icon on TTN dashboard shows not connected.
I feel as though I have missed something although following the install instructions steep by steep.

Any thoughts on what to look at??

Do you have any nodes transmitting through your gateway?

Do you know that the packet forwarder is actually running on your gateway, and didn’t fail with an error on startup?

Check system logs for local indications of received messages.
