RAK4270 Old Installation

Hello RAK Support

We have been using RAK4270 (New production is RAK3172) modules in our sensors successfully for some time with our own LNS. The RAK4270 uses standard RAKWireless Firmware (3.3.0.18) with a slave processor sending standard AT commands.

Note: The LNS is used with 1000’s of Elsys sensors without any problem so we think the Gateway and Packet Forwarder is good

We have a remote site with 100+ LoRa Sensors using the RAK4270 that were all joined successfully when installed over 6 months ago.

On this site approx 20 LoRa Sensors have now dropped off and we are receiving the following logs from our LNS Server and the packet forwarders in the building

Note: We have been informed that there are no other LoRa devices in the building.

Notice that the devEUI is empty (devEUI:) or only 4 characters (devEUI:2BDD) in some logs and the log with a join request from devEUI:A07D9E10FCB3E324 shows a devEUI that will never be received again on the LNS.

The devEUIs are stored in the RAK4270 as normal

I believe these logs are being received from the RAK4270 sensors that have dropped off and perhaps are trying to join again but something is corrupt in the join request ??

Looking for suggestions on how we can debug this situation

Thank You

Paul Humphreys

Hi @dingoxx ,

This is challenging to identify if this is an internal corruption of RAK4270. I already forwarded this to our team and see if they other ideas that could be related.
