RAK4630 O RAK3172

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on the design of a custom LoRaWAN PCB that also requires Bluetooth connectivity. I am evaluating two possible approaches and would appreciate your guidance:

  1. Using the RAK4630, which already integrates BLE functionality.
  2. Using the RAK3132 and adding an external BLE module.

From a design perspective (power consumption, complexity, cost, and development effort), which option would you recommend and why?

Any insights or experiences with these modules would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @zerocool ,

I do not have extensive BLE application development experience but in my opinion, RAK4630 which is based on nRF52840 is a better choice.

  • Power consumption
  • BLE capabilities
  • Complexity (it depends on the developer - are you using Zephyr, Arduino, Nordic SDK?
  • Proved BLE products in the market
