RAK4631: Admin lock persists after successful flash with Meshtastic-Flasher

Hello everyone,

I’m stuck with my RAK4631 (Meshtastic). After enabling remote admin access, all device settings are grayed out in the app. I’m trying to factory reset the device, but the admin lock remains.

The Core Problem: I have used the Meshtastic-Flasher to re-flash the firmware. The process completes successfully without any errors, and the device reboots as expected. However, the old settings are not wiped. The admin lock is still active, and the menus remain grayed out.

What else I’ve tried without success:

  • Arduino IDE & PlatformIO: All attempts to manually compile and flash firmware fail on two different operating systems (Windows & Linux) due to fundamental errors (board not found, linker errors).

It seems the configuration settings are stored in a protected area of memory that is not being overwritten by the standard flashing process.

Is there a method to perform a “deep” factory reset that truly erases this persistent memory?

Thanks!
