Device allways starts up in dfu mode even with valid user code.

I had the same problem. Upgrading the bootloader to the latest version fix the problem for me. Here is the link with instructions and most current bootloader.hex. https://github.com/RAKWireless/WisBlock/tree/46cc66b71e74236089c10cb98b2ef2828975bfb2/bootloader
I was able to flash the bootloader using the SEGGER J-Link EDU Mini and the J-Flash Lite application.

I apologize for the problem. The first batch of RAk4631 Core modules was sent out with a bootloader that had problems when sensor modules were plugged in.
The problem is solved with the new bootloader as @JasonRJ pointed out.
