RAK4631 powered by super capacitors

Pardon if this is a dumb noob question but is it possible to run a Basic RAK4631 Meshtastic Kit for LoRa entirely from a bank of parallel supercapacitors recharged via solar?

I live in Arizona and batteries don’t particularly like temperatures of 120-150f inside the solar enclosure.

TIA,
Phil

Should be possible. It is physics game. How many capacitors? I have no idea. But you can look on the Suntastic project.

Maybe possible, but we didn’t test this. The charger in the starter kit is for Li-Ion batteries, not for super caps, so it might work until the super caps are empty.

Do you see any problems with a hybrid lithium ion capacitor solution like this: 0.3 Watt 3.3 Volt Solar Power System

Thanks, that’s very interesting.
