RAK5860 Not responding any AT commands

You need a battery for reliable function of the RAK5860
Hardware Setup

This is valid for both Base Boards.
It might work on the older RAK5005-O without battery, but you cannot rely on it. It might fail at any time.

Reason is the high current consumption of the cellular chip. There might be a brown-out at any time and the Quectel chip is shutting down or malfunction. Specially while it tries to connect to a cellular network.

I see, any improvement in sight/planned? some cellular module that could be used instead of BG77?

All cellular modems I know have the same problem. High power consumption when connecting/sending/receiving.

We are not planning any other cellular module for WisBlock at the moment.

Hello, I am using a rak19007 with a rak4631, adding a rak12500 and a rak5860. I have connected a charged battery, but I am still unable to receive a response to an AT command. Are the rak12500 and rak5860 compatible on the same board?

Welcome to the forum @Christophe

RAK5860 and RAK12500 are compatible, but you cannot use the RAK12500 in Slot A. In Slot A there is a GPIO conflict.
You need to place the RAK12500 in Slot D.

You can check conflicts with the Pin Mapper. Guide is in the Doc Center
