RAK7201V2 Firmware Upgrade Timeout

After flashing WisNode_Button_1.0.2.bin using the DFU upgrade tool, the device rebooted and became completely unresponsive.

Symptoms:

  • WisToolBox no longer recognizes the device
  • LEDs no longer illuminate
  • No button response
  • LoRaWAN radio stack does not start
  • Broadcast icon is crossed out
  • DFU tool detects the COM port but times out with no progress
  • Device previously completed the firmware upgrade successfully, but after reboot it entered this state

It appears the bootloader entry sequence is no longer working and the BSP may be corrupted.

Could you provide the SWD pinout and the correct bootloader/BSP image for recovery?

Are you sure that your device is V2?
If so, the problem is that you flashed firmware for RAK7201V1, and the device is bricked. If you have access to Jlink, you can restore it. Let’s decide how we will proceed, and I can prepare a guide if required.

Where was the device bought from, our store or a reseller?
Can you give me the Order Number?
