I am using RAK7289CV2 and RAK7267 gateways to collect sensor data from agricultural fields. The 7289 will easily reach 10km, whereas the 7267 is just barely making it to 1.5km. The gateways are temporarily installed with solar power near the field sensors, and stay for the crop season (3-4 months). To reduce risk of theft, they need to have a very small visual profile. Huge solar panels, blue (looking at you RAK) battery packs, and large control panels are asking for it; not to mention the added purchase price. For these reasons, the 7267 was very attractive option. But the range is disappointing and not usable for most installations. Can we install an external Lora antenna to boost the range? A peek at the board revealed 3 uFl connectors. Can one be used to bring an extension outside the case?
