My LoRaWAN Gateway (Rak7268v2) is running WisGateOS 2.1.8.
(1.) How do I perform a factory reset?
(2.) Will a factory reset also reset the gateway password?
(3.) I have tried the reset button, but the gateway never resets. Is this normal?
(4.) Does this button require holding it down during a power cycle?
Additional information for my device:
-
USB Console port shows Linux bootup log output on my PC (with Putty, exe and serial 57600-8-n-1)
-
The local AP starts for remote access. I can connect to it on my laptop with SSID of “RAK726V2_ABAD” (no password needed). Gateway’s internal webserver presents me with a LOGIN … but I no longer have the password.
-
While watching the LOG console, there is NO RESPONSE when I press the reset button, NO RESPONSE when I press and hold the reset button. It is as if the reset button is ignored. Am I doing this right?
===============================
RESOLUTION:
-
I connected the USB console to my laptop to view with Putty.exe (57600-8-n-1)
-
I power-cycle rebooted the device.
-
I observed the boot process in the console log output on my laptop, until it reached the “BOOT DONE” message
-
At that time, I pressed, and held down, the reset-button for about 30-seconds.
-
I released the reset button. The console indicated “FACTORY RESET”.
-
I waited for all the booting to complete.
-
I connected my laptop to the device over wifi at ssid==“RAK7268v2_XXXX”.
-
I connected a webserver to https://192.168.230.1/
-
It presented me with a Set-new-password flow.
APPARENTLY, MY RESET SWITCH HAS INTERNAL DAMAGE.
I hope this helps someone one day.
Thank you.
