In the datasheet there is a little error in LED indications :
LED 5 (LTE)
Slow Flicker (1800 ms bright / 200 ms dark): Network searching
Slow flicker (200 ms dark / 1800 ms bright): Idle
I guess one should be “200 ms bright / 1800 ms dark” but which one ?
I have a gateway which just disconnect, I can’t remotely connect to it but a technician sent me a vidéo of LEDs but can’t know if gateway’s LTE is idle or searching network …
Can you explain more, why do you think it is wrong?
The logic here is that if you get a longer bright and shorter dark interval, it is Network searching; if it is the other way around, you have the device Idle.
I am not sure if you can share the video directly in the forum, but you can try to .zip it and send it or upload it to Google Drive (or another option). This way we can see your LED’s behaviour to help you make sense of it.
At the same time, when you’re trying to run a diagnosis from thousands of kilometers away, right when there’s a 4G issue, it’s no wonder details like that stand out
Anyway thanks for your quick answer, I know that I have a LTE issue …
We agree that “network searching” can lead to different causes : network down, data fair-use completely used … ?
Well, this LED only indicates the modem state.
There are only 3 possible options :
1- The LTE modem works, and it searches networks (1800ms bright (High)/200ms dark (Low))
2- Problem with the modem (not blinking at all)
3 - Ongoing data transfer (Fast flicker (125 ms bright / 125 ms dark))
If you don’t have a connection based on the network, you can not detect that using the LEDs. Then you may use the system log in debug mode. Also, the cellular interface with its utilities (ping, APN, etc.)
Also, if you have a pre-paid card and the credit has ended, you should restart the gateway after getting new credit on the card.
