Issue:
I fail to receive a GPS signal. There is clearest view to the sky but no avail.
Setup: Standing on top of the roof besides other antennas.

Since I mounted it to replace an old Dragino Gateway I didnt manage to receive a single GPS signal → I thought maybe this is some checkmark in the WisGate Software, but I cannot see any as well other than “Fake GPS” or not …

Current Version: WisGateOS_2.2.16_RAK

What steps do you recommend to go after?

Hi @Yoo_Chae_Ri,

Since you’re running WisGateOS 2.2.16 on a RAK7289V2, could you check the GPS status shown on the “Diagnostics” page by enabling debug logs?

Please let us know what it reports there, especially the GPS status and satellite count.

You mentioned that the gateway is already outdoors with a clear view of the sky. If it is still showing 0 satellites, it would also be worth testing it a little farther away from the nearby antennas.

If it remains at 0 satellites, please contact [email protected] so we can check the gateway further.

Heja @JaeHwan.Jin,

after turning Debug diagnostics back on, it still only shows this - repeatetly.
There is some issue with the time, as it seems. In the other windows for example when you get to see the LoRa packets it displays the correct time, so it wont be fundamentally false, I guess.

Any more helpful input, or do I have to elevate this up to the support?

Hi @Yoo_Chae_Ri,

From the logs, NMEA communication seems to be working (nmea_ok=1), but the GPS isn’t getting a fix and the satellite count remains at 0.

Given that the gateway has a clear view of the sky, this looks more like an issue on the GPS RF or hardware side than a software setting I guess.

Please get in touch with [email protected] so the team can take a closer look at the unit.
