Unable to configure RAK256-hub via WisToolBox

I’ve been attempting to configure the RAK2560 Sensor Hub for use with my lorawan gateway. However I’ve been unable to get WisToolBox to work. I have tried both the desktop application and the Android application.

When viewing the logs in WisToolBox I see errors suggesting that the AT commands being sent are not supported. For instance AT+NJM=? returns AT_MODE_NO_SUPPORT

I’m able to pair the Android application via Bluetooth and NFC. Once paired I can read the fields, but I’m unable to get any configuration commands to succeed. Each attempt just reports that the command failed. My RAK2560-hub is reporting firmware version 1.2.9, which appears to be the latest referenced here https://downloads.rakwireless.com/LoRa/SensorHub/Firmware/RAK2560_Latest_Firmware.zip

However the WisToolBox reports a version 1.2.25 being available. However when I try to update via the Android application, the application crashes. I’m unable to find a link to this version from the website to attempt to flash via USB. I’m at a loss for what to try next. I’ve opened a ticket 5 days ago but have yet to receive a response. Anyone here have any ideas?

Welcome to the forum @stagpark

WisToolBox for Desktop does not support the RAK2560 SensorHub (yet). You can do the setup only with the mobile version of WisToolBox.

RAK2560 latest firmware is 1.2.9. I am not aware of a version 1.2.25. This might be a glitch in the application.

Here is the release log for the RAK2560.

When connected to the SensorHub via BLE, can you go Advanced Settings ==> Console ==> and send ATR to the device. This will perform a factory reset of the device.

(1) Tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, it opens “Advanced Mode Commands”. Click on “Advanced Mode Commands”

(2) In the “Advanced Mode Commands” Menu, select “Open Console”

(3) In the “Console”, enter ATR, then send it to the device.

The device will reboot after that command.
Let me know if this changes anything.

After using the ATR command I am now able to successfully configure the LoRa parameters. Thanks for the advice!
