Using a RAK4631 Nordic NRF52840 BLE Core Module without a base board

  • What firmware are you using? Intend to use with Meshtastic

I have the following questions:

  1. I want to buy one base Wisblock board (RAK19001) and multiple RAK4631’s. I will then use the wisblock board to flash mestastic firmware onto all the boards. Is this possible?
  2. Once the firmware is flashed, can I directly connect a Li-ion battery to the core using a bms?
  3. Is it possible to flash the meshtastic firmware onto this core?

  1. You can flash all your RAK4631 using one base board.
  2. If you mean you will connect only the core without baseboard, it is not possible since you need connectivity to battery. This is required on one of the core pins.
  3. Yes Meshtastic is compatible.
