What is the best choice for Lora antenna?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to increase the distance of my Lorawan demo system! But it have many issues!!
At the moment, my node and gateway is only work OK at about 150 meters. It seemed too wrong because lora can reach above 2-3 km!!
My setup is: AS923, max Tx power (14dbm), SF10BW125 (because rak node had to limit Dwelltime to 400ms, so it cannot get SF12 at AS923. To be honest, i don’t like this feature). The antenna i used is GSM 900Mhz/1800Mhz

About the gateway - RAK831, it is equipped with default antenna included when i bought a combo, and the gateway is placed at floor 2 of my buidding

In many case, the RSSI and SNR was not stable, and it drop to easily when i change the direction. So i think my antenna was too bad.
Anyone have tested the distance, please give me some opinions

the RSSI is about -110 and snr is -7 at 100m distance. When the rssi down to -120 or snr was lower -10, the node seemed out of range!

When you send a confirmation packet, what value does the node return?

By the way!I would like to know that the node you are using is not a gateway！

Are these values signals that the node is sending to the gateway?

I use RAK811 in a picture. And all parameters is get on Chirpstack Server.
The rak811 return value the same! about -110 to 120

By the way, did you connect the antenna yourself?

What’s your signal when you’re two or three meters away?
