Hi all. Hope I can find some help here. I’ve purchased a few RAK devices for a LoRa mesh network in my town using Meshcore. Everything has been great so far, but one of my nodes (solar repeater, WisBlock-RAK4630) suddenly stopped working. This was after a Bluetooth DFU update, but it was working for at least a day or two after that. The Red LED was solid when I pulled the device down and now that’s all I get when plugged in via USB. Solid red LED. Double tapping the button does nothing and the PC does not recognize that I’ve plugged in a device. I’ve tried multiple USB cables and PCs (wWindows10 and Linux) to verify.
I’m guessing my next course of action would be to flash it using another device. I’ve seen talk of a JLINK or RAKDAP? I have an FTDI flasher as well as a DAPLINK I got from Amazon. Would either of these work? I’ve used the former several times, but have never used the latter. Any help would be appreciated!
If it is not detected by the PC and without any mechanical/physical damage, then you can try to recover it using DAPLINK. I haven’t tried other PYOCD tools other than RAKDAP1 but your DAPLINK should be compatible on it. The guide should be same here.
Thanks for your response! After I made my post I did some searching and found a guide on how to flash using the DAPLINK and similar boards. I was able to install the pyocd software and related modules, but every time I try to flash or erase I get
It seems that the DAP probe is detected by pyocd. If this is the case, (in my experience) you can check if the wiring is ok. Sometimes there are situation that the jumper wires is not stable. Also, you can try to supply on the WisBlock Core while doing the flashing. I connect the USB cable to baseboard to power the core.
