WisMesh Pocket V2 Boot loop issue

Hi All,
I have a new Pocket V2 device purchased directly from RAK and took delivery just 7 days ago. After assembly and battery charge it has been working very well. I had read a little about this boot loop issue but really haven’t thought much about it.
Today, while my wife was shopping I was in my car playing with this device. I was making changes to the Position setting using the Mashtastic Android Web software. After the 2nd or 3rd reboot in 20 mins the device stopped responding. Tried turning it off and back on (30 second wait), then reset button, both no help. Just had the green led light on after turning on for a few seconds. No info on screen at all.
After returning home I looked up how to do a factory reset. I used the Web Mashtastic Flash app and installed the erase file then reinstalled the same version of Mashtastic software. All is good now. My concern is how reliable is the hardware/firmware? I invested in what I believed is the best hardware available. Besides the Pocket V2, I also have two 4631 boards with sensors. I see there are many who have experienced this issue.
I hope whatever is causing this is/can be corrected with a future firmware update.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
Mashtastic Web flasher current as of 1/23/24
Firmware 2.5.18.89ebafc beta (on device with issue and same reinstalled)
Samsung Tablet Galaxy Tab A9+ SM-X210
One UI Version 6.1
Android Version 14
Current Version: X210XXs5CXK6 / X210OXM5CXK6 /
Security Patch Lever Dec 1, 2024

On a side note. While doing the factory reset using the Flash file the instruction ask to use one of two version. You have to look at a file. Mine was 6.1.1 so I used the version 6 and not the version 7 file. Since I just took delivery I am wondering why I have the older version and not the newer version 7… Just one of those things that bug me…

Welcome to the forum @sawadee

Thank you for your feedback.
We are not developing or maintaining the Meshtastic firmware, we can not support on problems with the Meshtastic firmware itself.

About Meshtastic firmware eraser versions, they depend on the bootloader/softdevice versions used on the device. Our RAK4631 bootloader/softdevice is on V6, other manufacturers of Meshtastic compatible devices are using V7 bootloader/softdevice variants.

Regarding reliability of the RAK4631 itself, I have long time tests running with the RAK4631 and my own firmware.

Here is an one year data collection of an outdoor air quality sensor, running from battery and solar only:

The two “interruptions” in the data stream you see are related to rebuilding the device with a new enclosure and a downtime due to rainy season and solar charging not sufficient to keep the battery alive.
Other than that I didn’t see any problems.
