I’m reaching out to inquire whether the RAK3172 module supports LoRaWAN relay functionality. Based on my current understanding, the module is compliant with LoRaWAN 1.0.3, which may not include native support for relay features introduced in later specifications.
If relay support is available or planned for future firmware releases, I would appreciate your guidance on the following:
Required hardware capabilities and constraints
Necessary firmware stack or version compatibility
Any configuration steps or documentation for enabling relay mode
Considerations for network server integration and relay-aware routing
I’m currently working on a deployment that could benefit from relay functionality, and I’d like to evaluate whether RAK3172 is a suitable candidate or if alternative modules should be considered.
