I’d like to use a Lithium thionyl chloride battery.
The voltage of these primary cell is 3.69V
Wil it be damaged ?

Welcome to the forum @Bluebell
RAK3172 is rated 2.0 V ~ 3.6 V with a recommended supply of 3.3V
3.69V might damage the device.
my experience, without warranty, is that I use a lipo battery with 3172 and no issues. fully charged it’s at 4.2V even. my devices mostly sleep and only wake up every few minutes, if that’s helping surviving this voltage (no heat etc, I don’t know). i just can say it works
yes indeed. i’m just saying my few sensors run for months on lipo without dying of course after a few weeks the initial 4.2V level out at 3.5-3.7 before going down slowly, so most of the time it’s in a healthy range.
Marius,
What is your current consumption during transmission and no transmission?
