RAK3172 Antenna - cable twist?

I am using the P-0205-02 RAKWireless antenna with the RAK3172. It has a cable length of about 100mm.

Due to the mechanical design of the enclosure, I need to have the antenna at a different orientation to the “natural” orientation provided by the cable. To achieve this, I would need to twist the coax between the IPEX connector and the antenna.

How much twist this cable tolerate?

If it is coiled, what is the minimum bend radius?

Hi @Hagrid ,

I have to confirm with our RF engineer. But if you will look on some standard, if you are more than x12 of the diameter, you are like safe. This is around 12mm.

Some RF cable are lower like this one which is 4.5mm.

*Btw, that antenna you are using will have some limitations. You have to test it thoroughly. If your application requires very long range, considering external antenna might be needed.
