RAK3172, LoRa P2P, airtime / duty cycle

Hello,

I am using the RAK3172 in LoRaWAN and LoRa P2P mode.

Just a suggestion for the LoRa P2P mode.

After sending data (AT+PSEND=00010203040506070809),
I receive the message +EVT:TXP2P DONE.
It would be great if the required airtime were also displayed.

I’m using 869.525000 MHz, where a 10% duty cycle and 27 dBm ERP are allowed.

Using the airtime information helps ensure compliance with the 10% duty cycle.

(My config: AT+P2P=? → AT+P2P=869525000:12:0:0:8:22)

BR Frank.

There is no option to display the time-on-air.
If you have a fixed payload length, you can use the Semtech LoRa Calculator to get your average air time.

Just a quick update,

I have already implemented a duty cycle limit based on the largest packet.

Perhaps the time between the first OK and the second +EVT:TXP2P DONE could also be used for calculation.

Feedback on “time-on-air” would be a great addition to future firmware

Best regards, Frank.
