RAK3172 module support for LR-FHSS?

Dear,
We are working on LoRa end node that is based on RAK3172 module. Did you know this module support LR-FHSS for Satellite communication?

Welcome to the forum @huytl

The datasheet of the STM32WLE5 does not mention LR-FHSS, only LoRa, (G)FSK, (G)MSK and BPSK modulations and for the protocols LoRaWAN, Sigfox, W-MBus and more (without going into details).

Our firmware is supporting LoRa P2P and LoRaWAN protocol only.

Hello @beegee ,

I’ve been researching the possibility of creating a LR-FHSS gateway and node. While I’ve found several products that support LR-FHSS modulation for nodes, like the SX1261 and LR1121 from Semtech, I haven’t been able to find concrete information regarding gateways that support LR-FHSS demodulation. The only mention I’ve come across is the comment from Semtech’s page stating that “LR-FHSS demodulation will be supported on Semtech SX1301-based V2.1 gateways.”

Unfortunately, it seems like there is no public access to the Gateway 2.1 reference design, and it appears that companies like RAKwireless have exclusive access to this design.

My question is: Does RAKwireless offer any gateway product that supports LR-FHSS demodulation? If so, I would appreciate any details about how I can integrate this into my network.

Thanks in advance!

Our modules are using the SX1262 LoRa transceiver (or a built-into-MCU version of it on the RAK3172).
While Semtech says that it supports LR-FHSS, we do not support it in our LoRa drivers and we have no plans to do so.

Dear @beegee,

Thank you for your response regarding the LR-FHSS support in your modules. I wanted to follow up and ask about your gateways. Is it the same for the gateways, and do you also not support LR-FHSS in any of your gateway products?

Additionally, are there any RAK gateways that utilize the Semtech reference design V2?

I appreciate your assistance and look forward to your response.

Sorry, I cannot answer this complete, I am not handling gateways.

As far as I know, our gateways do not support it either.

I saw your message in our help desk. One of our gateway guys will get in contact with you.
